National Bodies Design Courses For Sailing
This is exactly why in many countries there is a national governing body for sailing. For example, the American Sailing Association or ASA in the United States and the Royal Yachting Association or RYA in United Kingdom are national associations. In order to help you in getting qualifications that are recognized around the world, these associations have come out with a series of courses. However, these governing bodies seldom run these courses themselves. Course Giving Both Practical And Theoretical Knowledge
There are courses that are designed to teach sailing for aspirants. These are  recognized degrees and offer both practical and theoretical knowledge to students. The courses cover handling all kinds of boat that are in use. For example, you can learn about powerboats, sail boats, motorboats, dinghies and many other courses that are supplementary to this such as the maintenance of diesel engine and sea survival courses.

The practical training is very important in sailing. That is why the number of students usually is no more than 5 along with one instructor. However, the duration of this course is lengthier and it will take five days to complete it. In addition to above mentioned skills, you will also get to learn how to row a dinghy.
