First, the sailing gear can be found at different swap meets or flea markets within a sailing community. Often, sailing clubs will hold a swap meet once or twice per year enabling people to find used gear for a fraction of the cost.

In addition to these sailing clubs, advertisements in newspapers and sailing magazines offer used gear for sale. These are great options since you can go and check the condition of the gear before buying it.

There are also some online auctions that sell used gear, but these are a little more difficult to use since the items cannot be thoroughly checked before purchasing them. However, many of these online sites have a guarantee or a checks and balances system in place so that people are protected from fraudulent sellers.
